A red-colored name flashed before her eyes, and Will reached to take the book back, tugging her hand away gently but closing the book firmly. The pen slipped quickly out of her hand as Will guided the end out of her clutch with the other hand.
She blinked at him, surprised.
‘There are a lot of secrets in the world, some that you have to find out for yourself.’ His voice was low, and sounded mysterious because of it.
Cecy nodded, seemingly have understood something but feeling totally confused all the same.
She remembered the colorful ink on each of the pages, gold, black, blue, purple, and that flash of bright red; so many colors, squibbled on the pages.
