Tairitsu had been walking through this ruined tower for a while. A figurative cloud of glass shards holding memories of terrible events followed behind her, like some pest that just won’t leave her alone. Perhaps it was for the better that they followed her, she thought. Maybe if they were with her all the time, if they were all in one place, then it would be easier to destroy them.
They were trash, garbage that needed to be rid of. That’s what she thought as she looked through them. Painful recollections without even a spark of light inside of them followed her obediently. She had forgotten, for a while, what happiness meant, for she hadn’t felt it in such a long time. And those mirrors, those wretched shards of glass were to blame.
She turned to the maze, looking at it intensly. She had refrained from going towards it at first. The labyrinth that extended into the sky, spiraling out of control, would surely be something to fear. A never-ending structure made of glass. ‘More filth,’ she concluded, and so she didn’t wish to go towards it. For what reason would she torture herself with so many memories at once? For what reason would she want to witness even more miserable events? There was no reason, no motive, no cause to see them. There was no reason why she should have to visit the structure.
