Bernard's Diary E1

Prelude
My story started on April 1st. I don't particular remember what happened that day, but it was in spring and everything seemed fresh and hopeful. The trees were beginning to blossom and everything started to wake up from a long dreamless sleep. 
Everything was full of energy but me.
That to me was the beginning of a nightmare and depression; one I'm still stuck in. 
To the younsters, life is full of beauty and hope. Yet, I'm too old to enjoy the simplicity of youth and I'm too young to grasp the true meaning of life.
