Chapter 5 The Suicide Girl (II)(5)
The results of toxicological test came out, and sleeping pills were detected in Luther’s cardiac blood, stomach and his liver.
Baron’s inference was confirmed. That is to say, we have succeeded in discovering the existence of a homicide from several subtle anomalies.
The caseworkers sat in our office and listened to our inferences which like a fantasy. Then they asked, “How can we solve this case? Do you have any good suggestions?”
I didn’t have any word. Yeah, this case had not been tested out other relevant biological evidence, how should we detect it? We can’t convict Candace just because she had the criminal motives.
“There is a way to try.” Baron said, “The day the little girl committed suicide, we all saw Candace came to the scene in a car, and then left by that car. From that time, you could investigate her trajectory and pay attention to the video surveillance near the hospital or drugstore.”
The results of the survey were soon fed back. According to Candace, after leaving the suicide scene, she went back to the factory where she worked, quit her job, and then returned home by bus and motorcycle. But She concealed an important problem that she got off the bus, went in and out of the drugstore near the bus stop, and took the next bus to leave. This important evidence was recorded by a surveillance video beside the pharmacy.
