Lumine swatted his arm playfully before pulling him back into the office she had come from. “Here, I already have most of it done, I just need you to co-sign since you’re going to be an owner too.” Technically he was the owner, but it was agreed upon that both their names would be on the deed. Despite him footing the purchase, it was their combined efforts that was going to turn it into a home.
“You got it, pretty lady. Get that cheque book ready.” His hand was extended the moment he met eyes with the elderly lady behind the desk. “A pleasure, to see you again Mrs. Ping” he’d been there during the initial meeting, to ensure someone actually took Lumine seriously for once. “Lumi told me you treated her nicely, I appreciate that.”
“Oh, I’m flattered.” The elderly woman offering a soft, polite chuckle in response. “Now just make yourself at home and be yourselves. No need for that extra polite business.” As if to prove her point, the woman delicately moved to reach for an electric kettle and pour hot water into a small cup with a teabag in it for Ajax. “Here, Dearie, have some tea. It’ll help soothe the nerves and stress of buying a home.”
