Emily's heel(3)
So she does. She looks. And she keeps her eyes open. She goes to bars and clubs and restaurants where she can feel everyone watching her. She talks to strangers who seem interested in hearing about her life. And she asks them questions. She makes small talk, and she tries to figure out what their stories are. She asks why they're looking for someone to date them, if they feel that comfortable being alone. And she learns about their families. About their dreams and goals. They are a little different from her own; different from the kind of people she used to imagine finding love with. She doesn't understand how anyone can live such a long life without falling in love; how anybody can look past whatever flaws they might spot along the way and still fall for someone who isn't perfect.
