Chapter 2 Battle of Palan Plain 2(3)
The Imperial vanguard, when about fifty meters away, stopped and began to move the heavily armed halberd-bearers and shield-bearers to the very front of the line, as if preparing to win the charge. However, the commander of the Imperial Vanguard soon began to regret the attack.
The imperial army was clearly not expecting the fierce nature of the Lotland men, and was stunned for a moment.
A mid-mounted knight with a halberd at the very front of the Imperial Army, apparently stunned by the action of the Lortrans ahead of him, had just made a symbolic wave of his halberd as the Lortrans rushed in front of him, when a heavily armed Lortrans shield-bearer, thrusting his shield away from him, stabbed him in the throat.
Similar scenes occurred at every point in the battle between the frontiersmen of both sides, and almost all of the Andal Imperial soldiers in the front line met their deaths at the hands of the frontiersmen of the Empire.
