‘Because we are not here to stop the explosion, but to make sure that a foolish young man doesn’t change the entire experience. He seems to have gathered his friends too. I think it’s because his girlfriend died in that explosion.’
‘But there is no one here in this amusement park, where’s the girlfriend, and to tell the truth, wouldn’t it have been best if he did manage to do so?’
‘There’s no one because it is not yet half past five. As I said, the Capsule is an island, between the worlds. This world is an exact replica of the one in which the explosion actually happened and claimed the lives of several dozen people.’
‘This is an empty park? Because we are not yet in the real amusement park?’
‘You can think of it as such. We travellers can manage to replicate a small part of the world temporarily if necessary. This world is going to be combined into the identical one in,’ Lydia checked her watch again, ‘Forty-two minutes.’
She extended her hand to Cecy once more, ‘So come on, the clock’s ticking. Let’s climb the tall castle first and get a better view of the top-most carriages. Maybe we will find something there.’
