The Skyline Chapter Two(Part 3)(2)
Now, we walked out on the sidewalk. In front of us, a super long complex is standing there. Behind several skyscrapers stood and almost seemed linked to the complex. I turned and looked backward. Dust plains and highways reached to the horizon. The difference on both sides felt awkward. The main street is linked to the highways, and went straight toward the complex.
“Sector Five is one of the first sectors humans built when they reached Mars,” Stella explained.
“When it’s first built, they are separate small complexes for Martian shelters. As the population increases, unlike other sectors and places, they built more complexes overlapping each other.”
“Well that’s a bad idea,” I said.
“It seems unimportant now,” she replied, “at that time, the Martian atmosphere is too thin to catch enough oxygen. It is a lot easier to travel inside a complex than outside. Meanwhile, it provides a stronger hold on the foundations of every complex.”
“Couldn’t you just make us get there faster?” I complained, “there’s like a mile.”
“We aren’t going there right now, there are underground complexes down here.”
