我有点怀疑萨斯利尔和地下的污染有点关系。或者至少是有直接关系的。如果有的核算，也许他是遭受了污染的侵蚀，或者和当初的空想之龙一样情况，因为恐惧地下的污染才把自己关起来的？

Actually, Roselle wasn't betrayed by his subordinate. In case you are talking about the Church of Steam and Machinary, their boss is God of Steam not Roselle.
As for Ancient Sun God, perhaps He had too much authorities and could no longer contained the madness accumulated? As Evernight said in the Rose Redemption scene, "dissociation and deviation are the most basic order." If you view it in a positive way, it means ASG's condition was bad and about to dissociate that time. But of course if you view it in negative light, this is just Their excuse to topple ASG.
