Also, totally unrelated to this chapter, but today I learned that there was a renowned American psychologist named Granville Stanley Hall. I'm pretty sure that Audrey Hall's name was a little nod to him.
I don't have the best memory, so I'm curious if there were other name-dropping references in this book (besides Klein's aliases of course). Have you guys noticed anything like this?

Ince Zangwill is a nod to Israel Zangwill, writer and journalist. He was the author of the first locked room mystery novel, The Big Bow Mystery (1892) - yes, Sherlock.
He wrote a then famous play The Melting Pot and was nicknamed "The Dickens of the Ghetto". I think his influence can be felt in a few aspects of this novel.
