‘Why should I help you?’ The girl said skeptically. ‘You are just two people I barely know. And I have a mission to go forth on. You are wasting my time.’
You wouldn’t have come forward in the first place if you thought we were wasting your time. You could have just slipped away, Cecy wanted to remind her. But——
‘Ir doesn’t matter.’ She decided, glancing around once more. The park was eerily quiet, though it might have just been that Cecy’s ears were still malfunctioning. No one had rushed towards the explosively loud noise yet, and Cecy felt distinctly strange.
‘Did you see a boy about your age just now. His hair is deep violet and his eyes are grass-green. I am trying to find him.’ The last couple of words blurred together, as her violet eyes narrowed.
‘Wait. Who are you? What......’
She stared intently at Cecy for the first time, and Cecy wanted to shrink away from the intense gaze.
‘It’s your talent, isn’t it? I shouldn’t have lowered my guard, but still, you are so——early.’
What are you! Talking about! Cecy wished to shout out loud but bit back on her words.
