Chapter 2 Paradise town(2)
"Hard to mistake it, my friend." The lazy but sweet voice from nowhere made David tense up suddenly. When he turned back, he saw the familiar face. Annoyed by this woman's sick pleasure for catching him off guard, David played a foul face, "Harder to get rid of you though."
"So mean? Mr.Detective. That's not what a gentleman should say to a lady. Agree?" the woman with curly hair, red like fire, said her words with a seductive smile.
Unless you are not a common lady. This woman is like a wild cat with her curly red hair in the rains but there's sort of fake innocence in her light-blue eyes. In a word, David Cohen didn't trust her. It's hard to trust most people nowadays anyway.
"So what are you looking for, emm? Paradise......Sounds like a place with many troubles, old man." She raised her eyebrows with a mocking smile.
"Bet on it?" Without waiting for the young woman's response, David returned to his old car. Have some work to do today.
He suspected that if he stayed here for one more second, the red head woman would dare to get into his car without even a word. Like she could read his mind, she was standing behind the car with a mocking smile on her lips and in her light-blue eyes. David gave the red head in the rearview mirror his last glance. She silently mouthed "Good Luck" back to him. He had an ominous feeling about this woman who he met three nights ago. And he smelled the conspiracy behind those fake smiles. If he followed the warning and never put his feet into the place, what would happen then? He asked himself for the first time but not for the last time when he drove into the "Paradise".
