Mermaiding Mishap[12P] by WaveLens,chef-cheir(9)
It was inevitable now. Mi'ara knew she either let it happen while she was still at least remotely conscious or it would happen as soon as she passed out. She couldn't bring herself to take her hand off her neck but she did open her mouth more and it took only a brief relaxed moment of her throat to finally greet the water in.
It immediately rushed down her windpipe, hardly even leaving her time to choke when her lungs finally fulfilled their desire and inhale. Without doubt, water was not what this wannabe mermaid needed though.
The little air she still held was pushed aside by the burning flood of water that sent a shock through the Hawaiian's body. Her eyes widened like they rarely had before and her body started to tremble when every cell of her body was still screaming at her for oxygen.
At least the gasp of water had sent another, powerful surge of adrenaline through her but her legs just flailed uselessly around in her costume, still not able to make herself kick properly and ascend again. The side on her face only confirmed the hopelessness of the situation.
