Chapter 9 Shihu (Stone Tiger) 2(18)
In November, Wang Shihu of the later Zhao built a bridge over the Yellow River at Lingchangjin. He mined stones for the piers. However, after the stones were dropped, they were washed away by the water, costing more than five million yuan in labor, but the bridge was not completed. Shi Hu was angry, killed the craftsman and stopped the construction.
In the first month of the first year of Yonghe (345), Shi Jian, Duke of Yiyang of the later Zhao, was guarding Guanzhong. When civil and military officials had long hair, they pulled out the tassels as crowns and hats and gave the rest to maids in court. Chang Shi took the hair and reported it to Shi Hu, the later king of Zhao. Shi Hu called Shi Jian back to Yecheng and sent Shi Bao, Duke of Leping, to defend Chang 'an. He also recruited 160,000 people from Yongzhou, Luozhou, Qinzhou and Beizhou to build the Weiyang Palace in Chang 'an.
