He could hear the screams and shouts of the Axemen from the beach, and sheer terror gave him the strength to struggle out of the bog and fling himself into the cover of some nearby bracken. He could see the little figures of the Alvinsmen and the Dragonmarkers standing among the ruins of a great Castle on the highest ground.
