Little Harry was in a six-person ward, which is the lowest level of the First People’s Hospital of the province. The ward was full of gauze and alcohol, which was extremely pungent.
“Uncle Quentin!” As soon as I entered the door, I heard little Harry’ crisp voice, “Uncle, you… How do you… What’s the matter?”
It could be seen that little Harry’s aphasia symptoms had become more and more serious. I approached him with a smile, grabbed his little hand, but could not say a word. Little Harry’s optic nerve was oppressed, which caused one side of the eye to strabismus and his hair to fall off. But I could see the optimism and doughtiness in his squinting eyes, and my tears could not help rushing out.
“How are you feeling?” I adjusted my breathing for a while, and choked out these words.
“No… It doesn’t matter. I’m not afraid of death, un…Uncle.” Little Harry’s voice was still familiar, but every word sounded very difficult.
“Don’t say that. You won’t die.” Although he was just an ordinary patient, I’ve taken care of, anybody who sees the strong child suffering from this kind of turture can’t help but blush his eyes. “Good boy, get well, I will come back to see you again.” I couldn’t restrain the choking of my throat. I said goodbye to little Harry and turned to walk out of the ward.
