Chapter 7 The Big-Eyed Boy (I)(11)
Very soon, we sat on the investigation car to Baohe District. “What’s the situation?” I asked Mr. Herman.
“A lonely old man lives by repairing shoes. In the outskirts of the city, he brought a two-storey small house, the first floor is the store, rolling gate, the second floor is the place to live. The neighbors in front of the house were suspicious when they found out that the old man had not opened the door all day yesterday. At about 6 o’clock this morning, the neighbor heard his cell phone ring, but on one answered it. Feeling wrong, he went to knock on his roll gate, but no one opened it anyway. As a result, he climbed to the countyard wall facing the door and looked in from the window. He found that his window was open. The old man lay in bed, motionless, and there was blood beside his pillow. He knew that his life had been lost. So he called 110.”
“Is it a homicide case?”
“The policemen did not enter the scene. They carefully observed on the opposite countyard wall. There was blood on the bedside. The old man did lie there and did not breathe.”
