In this case, Lewis’s head suffered from blunt instrument like hammer for many times, causing extensive subcutaneous hemorrhage and nine scalp lacerations scattered in many parts of the head. Multiple skull comminuted fractures, intracranial hemorrhage, brain contusion, the severity of brain injury enough to lead to Lewis’s death. But Lewis’s neck wound bleeding was obvious. There was a vital reaction, indicating that this large wound was formed before Lewis’s death, and such a large amount of bleeding could also lead to Lewis’s death, so we thought that the death of Lewis was a combined death cause.
Baron looked at the large wound on Lewis’s neck carefully. If the cervical spine was not still attached, this large wound could even cause the head separating from the body.
Baron pointed to the both ends of the wound, he said “Look here.”
I looked carefully at the angle of wound and found that there were obvious tails on both angles of wound, just like fishtail lines on the corners of the eyes. I counted carefully. There were seven or eight tails, evey shallow, and only scratched the epidermis.
