Chapter 3 The Floating Skeleton (I)(5)
“Go back to Forensic Center and inspect the body parts.” The ships were in shore one after another, Baron knew that the refloatation work discontinued.
On my way back, I asked Baron helplessly, “Baron, did we stop the refloatation? What should we do next?”
“We can’t pump water out of the moat. I guess tomorrow frogmen will fish again. But it is a faint hope to find something in this so wide water area!”
“In such a case, what’s the value of us?”
“Of course, searching the source of the cadaver is our main duty. We’re halfway through identifying the source of the body, so it is our show time in such dismembered case. We must formulate the conditions of searching the source and thus reduce the searching scope.”
I nodded but not fully understood. How could we reduce the searching scope with the three body parts? This query suspended in my mind. DNA, as the mature technology, could only be the evidence which cannot be clues of searching for suspects or the sources of cadavers, because our country didn’t establish the nationwide DNA database at that time. I knew it and had no idea what to do next. Baron also didn’t know what to do next.
