The dead are gone, the wind and smoke are clean. "To Live" is the story of a persons life, a persons life seems to be very long, but perhaps in the inadvertently after many years, it is just so. There will be many unfortunate coincidences. For example, during the war, Fu Gui must have never thought that many years later, he and Chun Sheng met because of his bleak and desolated night scene.
His life is a long span of decades, but we can read it in an afternoon.
Its actually not long. We have seen his whole life, with the exception of the glorious days of his youth, but suffering. But he did not think so. He felt that in the years he had been through, there had been misery, and there had been more happiness. He believed that his wife, his children, his son-in-law and his grandchildren were the best. Because he has actually experienced those people and things, so he can be in the time of hone in the optimistic strong face of the world.
