The old man in the story is not discouraged when facing a stronger opponent than himself, but in reality, I give up halfway. When I was a child, I wanted to learn to play drum. My father supported me, but I didnt insist on it and gave up halfway. After reading about the old man and the sea, I realized that people cant go halfway.
