She was too happy to say anything, she dressed up, looked herself in the mirror, and asked: “Am I good in this dress?”
I answered, “Gorgeous!” She smiled.
We came to the restaurant, she said: “You go in first, I’ll use the bathroom.”
After a while, I received the text from her: “I’m home, today is my happiest day, really.”
妻子原本很漂亮,却因一场大火毁容,此后我不再带她外出,妻子也没有怨言。这天,我对他说:“老同学聚会,一起去吧。”
妻子欣喜若狂,站在镜子前左照右照,问:“穿成这样行吗?”
我回答:“好看!”妻子笑了。
我和妻子来到饭店,她说:“你先进去,我去趟洗手间。”
过了一会儿,我收到妻子的短信:“我回家了,今天是我最开心的一天。”
§When that earthquake happened, I was a six grader. I survived, but many of my classmates were gone.
Now I’m in university. Every time I went back to hometown, meeting the parents of the dead classmates’, they will all grab me, look at me from head to toes, and say: “How big you are.”
