Uneasiness spread up Cecy’s spine, though she could not tell why. The girl was not clutching any weapons, and she could have speared the both of them when they appeared if she had wished to. The fact that Cecy was still alive must mean——
That her target wasn’t them.
Cecy shivered at the thought.
Meanwhile, the dark-haired girl had approached, and now stood right before them. Her eyes, half-hidden in the shadows cast by the long locks of hair hanging down, were an unusual shade of violet, much more rare than pure purple, as Cecy had supposed.
