Marilla went to town the next day and returned in the evening.
"Anne,the specialist said that if I give up all reading and sewing,and if I'm careful not to cry,my eyes may not get worse.But if I don't,he says I'll be blind in six months."
Anne was silent.How things had changed since she arrived home! But she now knew what she needed to do.
"Marilla,I have something to tell you.You won't have to stay here alone.I'll be with you.I'm not going to Redmond."
