现在甲虫又变得心满意足了。
“一个人只有旅行一番以后，头脑才会变得清醒一些，"他说。
这时太阳照在他身上，而且照得很美丽。
“这个世界仍然不能说是太坏，”甲虫说。“一个人只须知道怎样应付它就成。”
这个世界是很美的，因为皇帝的马儿钉上金马掌，而他钉上金马掌完全是因为甲虫要其他的缘故。
“现在我将下马去告诉别的甲虫，说大家把我伺候得如何周到。我将告诉他们我在国外的旅行中所得到的一切愉快。我还要告诉他们，说从今以后，我要待在家里，一直到马儿把他的金马掌穿破了为止。”
